Poowong Consolidated School boasts a range of well maintained facilities to cater for a variety of children & curriculum activities.

Main Buildings
  • Well resourced classrooms, each with interactive televisions, air-conditioning, heating and comfortable furnishings.
  • A modern specialist building funded under the Building the Education Revolution Program (BER).
  • Art, Music and Science rooms fully equipped for specialist programs.
  • Large Office and teacher resource room/meeting area.
  • Wellbeing room/Chaplin office
  • Comfortable sickbay and disabled toilet/shower area.
  • Large well equipped kitchen/staff room.

The Shed

This school is fortunate to have a large “shed” used for assemblies, physical education, visiting artists, concerts and productions. Basketball and netball rings,  table tennis  and other sporting activities are available for children. It also has a fully equipped kitchen used for catering and classroom cooking. A large sports storage area complements this facility.

Grounds

Large grounds and excellent playground facilities are available for our students.

These are enhanced by beautifully landscaped gardens and trees and seating areas.

A 500 metre fitness track has been established, well used by our students and the broader community.

A well fenced large basketball/netball/tennis court.

The school is lucky to have a full size oval for football, soccer and cricket, as well as a fenced cricket practice area.

Large asphalted areas are available for volleyball, minor games and bicycle education.

An extensive vegetable garden and orchard. Also a bush kitchen for outdoor play activities.

Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC)

Out of School Hours Care is available for students attending Poowong Consolidated School. This service is available from 7:00am to 8:45am and 3:30pm to 6:00pm every Monday through to Friday.

This service is currently being transitioned from a third party provider (Theircare Pty Ltd), to a school based service and ask that if you need to utilise this service please contact the school office on 03 5659 2356 to book in. Casual bookings are available. This service runs in school terms only and is not available during school holidays

 

Buses

Two school buses provide service for families in the Poowong District. Pick up times commence from 8:00am.

Car Parking

Staff car parking is available in the main asphalted area, parents have a safe pick up and drop off area behind the shed. Second driveway car park on your left.

Poowong Township Facilities

Poowong Consolidated School has access to a range of facilities, within easy walking distance and safe footpaths, to complement our programs and curriculum.
