Poowong Consolidated School
Poowong Consolidated School boasts a range of well maintained facilities to cater for a variety of children & curriculum activities.
Main Buildings
- Seven well resourced classrooms, each with an interactive whiteboard, air-conditioning, heating and comfortable furnishings.
- A new senior building funded under the Building the Education Revolution Program.
- An art room fully equipped for specialist programs.
- Large office and teacher preparation/meeting area.
- Separate wellbeing room for one-on-one or small group meetings.
- Comfortable sickbay and disabled toilet/shower area with emergency alarm system.
- Large well equipped kitchen/staff lounge.
- Conference room and Principal’s office.
- A shared space for Science / Library. Our library facility is well resourced.
The Shed
This school is fortunate to have a large “shed” used for assemblies, physical education, visiting artists, concerts and productions. Basketball rings, Perceptual Motor Programs and table tennis activities are available for children. It also has a fully equipped kitchen used for catering and school lunches. A large sports storage area complements this facility.
Grounds
Large grounds and excellent playground facilities are available for our students.
These are enhanced by beautifully landscaped gardens and trees and seating areas.
A 500 metre fitness track has been established and includes 5 interesting fitness stations, well used by our students and the broader community.
A large basketball/netball/tennis court has recently been resurfaced and is well fenced.
The school is lucky to have a full size oval for football, soccer and cricket, as well as a fenced cricket practice area.
Large asphalted areas are available for volleyball, minor games and bicycle education. Plans are underway for an extensive vegetable garden and orchard.
Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC)
Child care for children attending Poowong Consolidated School is available from 3:30pm to 6:00pm Monday- Friday school evenings. Parents must book children in by phoning the school on (03) 5659 2356. Casual bookings are available. School terms only. Not available during school holidays.
After School Care
Hello and Welcome to Poowong TheirCare!
Our service operation hours are:
- Before School Care: 6:30AM to 8:45AM
- After School Care: 3:30PM to 6PM
Our service not only provides a safe and engaging environment for your children but a program that is fun, inclusive and encourages friendship, confidence and life skills.

Buses
Two school buses provide service for families in the Poowong District. Pick up times commence from 8:00am.
Car Parking
Staff car parking is available in the main asphalted area, parents have a safe pick up and drop off area behind the shed. Second driveway car park on your left.

Poowong Consolidated School has access to a range of facilities, within easy walking distance and safe footpaths, to complement our programs and curriculum.
