At Poowong Consolidated School our enrolment process includes a tour of the school, meeting with the principal to discuss your child’s needs and the official enrolment forms for you to fill out. Along with the enrolment form, we need to take copies of your child’s birth certificate or passport and their immunisation certificate. Enrolments are available in Term 1 and Term 3, or as negotiated if you are moving to the local area.
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.
Students residing in our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Our school also has additional capacity available to welcome students who are outside of our school zone.
The Department provides guidance through the Enrolment: Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

Foundation (Prep) Enrolments

In Term 4 each year, we offer a Kinder to Prep Transition Program designed to support both children and their families. The program includes five one-hour sessions across the term, giving children the opportunity to become familiar with the school environment, build connections with peers, and get to know staff.
Parents are supported through short information sessions and opportunities to connect with other families. In addition, we run a half-day session in December as part of the Statewide Transition Day (typically held on the second Tuesday of the month).
